Post 0: Goals

I'm excited to be starting my JPN 101 blog! I'll begin by outlining my goals for this blog:

A) I want this blog to record my progress as a beginner Japanese student. Our class has entered only its second week, but I can now introduce myself and greet others in Japanese. I've even learned the ひらがな characters. Still, I've learned relatively little so far, and I hope that this blog can chronicle my improvement in Japanese in the coming months.

B) I also want this blog to reflect my emotional experience in learning Japanese, whether positive or negative. If I can look back at what I enjoyed most and what challenged me most while learning Japanese in the past, I think it will help me to improve as a student and get the most satisfaction from my language-learning experience.

C) And, lastly, I want this blog to be fun! I think that learning Japanese will be an exciting and happy experience, so I hope I can communicate these feelings through my blog.

Those are my goals for this blog! I'll do my best to achieve them with each new post. With that in mind, I'll move on to my first real post.
